Mexican appetizers are a tiny meal that will help get your digestive juices flowing. Usually these scrumptious little dishes contain garlic, although not always. With or without garlic, appetizers are the perfect pick me up for the stomach to get it ready for the main Mexican entrée.

Mexican Appetizers

At Roberto’s Cantina you can start your meal with a fine tequila from Roberto’s collection of more than 150 boutique brands, many of which you will never see again. Then sample some of the Mexican appetizers from the menu.

Appetizer Choices include:

  • Quesadilla

Guacamole:
A mash of fresh avocados, lime juice, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and jalapeños.

Quesadilla:
A 10” flour tortilla stuffed with cheese and warmed until the cheese has melted. It is accompanied by sour cream and guacamole.

Ceviche:
The fish is “cooked” by soaking in a lime juice marinade. Chunks of seafood are mixed with minced onions, tomatoes and jalapeños. It is garnished with a slice of avocado.

Nachos:
Corn tortilla chips smothered with beans, melted cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Meat is optional.

Shrimp Cocktail:
Chilled small shrimp already marinating in its own tasty tomato broth along with chopped cilantro, onions and avocado.

Queso Fundido:
A mixture of mushrooms, corn, and red bell peppers smothered in melted Monterey Jack cheese and served with a hint of chipotle sauce for extra flavor.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops:
Marinated in a lemon garlic sauce, broiled then served over a creamy nogada inspired sauce.
